Game 2 Recap

In what will surely go down as one of the most bitter defeats in recent history, the CarryOn Slumpbusters found themselves on the receiving end of a batting glove to the cheek by The City of Beverly Hills team. Early on it seemed that the magic wand of Eric Lindbom would carry the Slumpbusters to an easy victory as they jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. But the COBH team simply had too many tricks -- and class -- for the young upstarts.

"I've never seen so much class, grace, and sportsmanship on one team," remarked slumpbuster manager Paul Yoffe. "I mean how do they expect us to compete in this league when we're playing against teams that ask us to mapquest our pitches? We're a pretty classy outfit, but that team clearly takes it to another level. The residents of Beverly Hills should beem with pride at the thought of their tax dollars paying for that team to play in the Tuesday night co-ed D league."

COBH pitcher Mr. Jones added, "What can I say, my mother and father taught me some valuable lessons. Run up the score no matter how many runs you're already ahead. Pick on individual members of the losing team, especially the pitcher, especially when it happens to be a girl, and especially when that girl happens to be light years out of your league. These are values that I'm going to hand down to my kids as soon as I find out where their mom took them."

The teams next meeting is August 29th.
