From time to time we like to interview folks from outside the CarryOn world to provide their own insights on things. Maybe share some advice or wisdom with us. The goal here is to be hard-hitting, thought provoking and to get us to look at the things around us in a different way.

We recently tried to sit down with a well-known police officer from New York City. He visited Los Angeles but once in 1988 and it was quite an explosive experience. Unfortunately he couldn't make it, so we got the next best thing. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, here's a transcript of our interview with the IMDB page of Mr. Die Hard himself, John McClane.

COPR: First of all, I want to thank you for making time to speak with us, I know we've been playing phone tag all week. Lots of voice messages.

JM: Ooooh, I'm very sorry Hans. I didn't get that message. Maybe you should've put it on the bulletin board. I figured since I've waxed Tony and Marco and his friend here, I figured you and Karl and Franco might be a little lonely, so I decided to give you a call.

COPR: Um, I don't know who those people are. Also, my name isn't Hans, although my great grandfather had some Bavarian blood. Anyway, speaking of names, should i call you Mr. McClane? John? Any preference?

JM: Sister Teresa called me Mr. McClane in the Third Grade. My friends call me John... and you're neither s***head.

COPR: Okay, well, thanks for being here. There's a funny story about how we met...

JM: I got invited to the Christmas party by mistake. Who knew?

COPR: Well it was a mistake we certainly don't regret. Frankly, we we're all a little surprised to have a star in our midst how did you sneak past the paparazzi?

JM: I've seen enough phony ID's in my time to know that the ones they got must have cost a fortune. Add all that up, I don't know what the f*** it means, but you got some bad-ass perpetrators and they're here to stay.

COPR: John - let me be frank - we all know that you've had some struggles as an officer. From the excessive violence and brutality to a rough divorce. Why not leave the force for something else?

JM: 'Cause I'm a New York cop. I got a six-month backlog on New York scumbags I'm still trying to put behind bars. I can't just pick up and go that easy.

COPR: In our line of work, we often come up against tight deadlines, crises --

JM: Hey, hey! How 'bout you just skip down to the part where you tell me what the f*** this has to do with me.

COPR: Um, okay... I hardly think swearing is --

JM: Hahdly? Well, what have you got against me anyway? What did I bring you in for? Shoplifting? Purse-snatching?

COPR: Next topic: managing up. How do you deal with an angry boss? Did this have any negative effects?

JM: I threw his little brother off the thirty-second floor of Nakatomi Towers out in L.A. I guess he's a little pissed at me.

COPR: Um... This has been fun, John. Any closing words?

JM: Yippie-ki-yay mother--

COPR: Thanks John, great stuff today.

Historians have made note of a previous party that has successfully completed this journey. But specifics are unclear and when pressed about details regarding their trip, the group falls into a catatonic state and their only response was numerous repetitions of the same word – Smiley. Re: Disease Outbreak Protocol and Pandemic Plan of Action

It has been brought to the attention of the Ministries of Health at CarryOn that in the past 2 weeks (that being the last weeks in January 2007) a pandemic of indeterminate etiology has coursed through the personnel at CarryOn Communication. Accordingly, the Ministries of Health, in conjunction with the Ministry of Information (aka David) have raised the Pandemic Office Operating Protocol Alert (or POOP Alert) to level 3. As many of you are aware, the scale is out of 5, with 1 being a common cold, 2 a mutation of that cold and subsequent spreading in an inter-office fashion, 3 an increased rate of infection with forced absence and manifestation of symptoms in a myriad of ways (pink-eye, strep throat, maladies of unknown origin), 4 being the Black Death and 5 being a full-blown zombie invasion (a la 28 Days Later).

POOP requires that if you begin to manifest symptoms of your own, or suspect that you might be coming down with something, you rapidly dose-up on Nature's Resource - Trimune, "it supports, stimulates and defends!" Other steps include avoiding the biosafe lab commonly known as "the Cave" and finally, removing yourself from the office to prevent further infection. Should you start to see any signs of plague (festering boils, blindness, hypothermia and leprosy) immediately retire to the 22nd floor for detox and quarantine. Should you or anyone near you start to display acute zombism (thirst for blood, hunger for brains, no pulse), you must immediate trap them - or yourself - in a safe area away from others. You then either have the choice of pitting more than one against each other in a proto-cock fight or remove the head or induce blunt-force trauma to the brain.

Should you have any questions about the POOP schema, please contact the Ministries of Health - do not go to FEMA - and remember, remain calm: level 3 is only a little more than half-way to becoming a full-blown, flesh eating member of the undead.

DJ Dave's Upcoming Music Picks

Well folks, DJ Dave here, and as I was browsing my dear blogo-net I couldn't help but notice that there is some amazing music coming down the pipe from some bands that you may not have heard of. Now, I realize that my music picks are often criticized, even villified. Heck, I've had my mix cds used for frisbees. Just ask Adrian, my taste in music can only be described as acquired. But, as a frontliner, life-on-the-edge, thrill-seeker with an eye for the cutting edge of trendiness, you tend to put your neck on the chopping block. Anyway. Not bitter. That being said, here are my picks for exciting new music.

Bloc Party -- Here's the video for "I Still Remember" from their upcoming cd "A Weekend In the City" (Feb. 6). Check it out. I predict these guys will be the next Coldplay. But hey, I also predicted that America wasn't ready to accept Will Ferrell as a movie star.

The Shins -- "Wincing the Night Away" (January 23). Okay, so this cd came out last week. Deal. Anyway. It's good. Really good. It's the kind of cd that you can put on and forget about. It won't offend you and that says a lot. If you're working and looking to listen (or not) to some calm, pretty pop music, you'll love it. Plus the song writing is great and the melodies are a delight. Ch-ch-check out the video from the first single "Phantom Limb"

Modest Mouse -- "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" (March 20). Not such a sunny title but a very sunny first single in "Dashboard." It sounds like they want to get played on the radio again after the surprising success of the ubiquitous "Float On." Plus they've added former Smiths guitarist/living legend Johnny Marr to their lineup. I don't know if they'll be able to capture the ears of radio again but it's definitely worth checking out or at least illegally downloading. Video for "Dashboard" isn't available yet but here's my favorite song of the last record.

The Good The Bad And The Queen -- Self titled (January 23). Calling them a supergroup would be an understatement. Blur/Gorillaz Damon Albarn, The Clash's Paul Simonon, The Verve's Simon Tong and Nigerian funk master Tony Allen comprise this new band. Oh yeah, and super producer Danger Mouse is producing. Wow. Just check out this dark cd for some gloomy rock at its best. Here they are in the kitchen.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah -- Some Loud Thunder (January 30). These guys make weird, twisted pop. Voices and guitars are way out of tune but the songs are undeniably catchy and strangely beautiful. Here they've enlisted producer Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Phantom Planet) to elevate their sound and it appears that it worked. Check out the video for "Over and Over Again (lost and found)" from their last record.

Peter Bjorn and John -- Writer's Block (February 6). I haven't been this excited about a record coming out in a long time. These guys are Swedish and they rule. They make lovely music that sounds both modern and old at the same time. When I first heard them I thought they were from the 60s but really ahead of their time. Turns out I was wrong but I think that description is kind of a great compliment. Plus, how often does whistling sound this cool?

Hey, isn't it funny how you make gestures when you're on the phone, even though the person on the other end can't see them? Like, I just did this zombie face, even though there's no way you could see it. Yeah, I saw it. It sucked rod.

Momofuku Ando, Japanese inventor of instant noodles, dies at 96

TOKYO (AP) — Momofuku Ando, the Japanese inventor of instant noodles, has died, according to Nissin Food Products Co., the company he founded. He was 96.
Ando died of a heart attack on Friday, Nissin said in a statement posted Saturday on its corporate website.
He was born in Taiwan in 1910, when the island was under Japanese colonial rule. He moved to Japan in 1933, according to Japan's daily Mainichi newspaper.
Faced with food shortages in post World War II Japan, Ando developed the idea that a quality, convenient noodle product would help feed the masses. He founded Nissin in 1948.
In 1958, "Chicken Ramen," the first instant noodle product, was introduced after many trials. Following its success, the company continued to add innovative products, including "Cup Noodle" in 1971.
"The Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum" opened in 1999 in Ikeda City in western Japan commemorating his inventions.
The company's products even went into space when Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi took instant noodles in a pouch called "Space Ram" on his 2005 mission on board the U.S. space shuttle Discovery.
Ando was a keen promoter of developing food for space travel, Nissin said.
Ando gave a 30-minute speech at the company's New Year ceremony and enjoyed Chicken Ramen for lunch with Nissin employees on Thursday before falling ill, Japan's largest daily Yomiuri said.
Ando is survived by his wife Masako, two sons and a daughter.

Police hunt pub urinal thief

LONDON (Reuters) - British police said Friday they were hunting a man who stole a urinal from a pub toilet.

The suspect walked into the Royal Oak pub in Southampton, on the English south coast, ordered half a pint of beer and then made several visits to the men's toilet.

There he carefully removed a white urinal from the wall, stuffed it into a rucksack and was captured on closed circuit television walking out with the bulging sack on his back.

"He made a very, very expert job of dismantling it from the wall and turning the water off. A very professional job," landlord Alan Dreja said in a video posted on the Southampton Daily Echo newspaper's Web site.

A police spokesman said the thief may have been a tradesman.

"One of the theories is the guy is some sort of cut-price plumber who is going round and stealing parts to order," he said.

Maybe they should start using this guy as a deterrent.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox has pulled the plug on "The O.C," which collapsed in the ratings this season.
The network said Wednesday the teen soap will end its four-season run next month. New episodes will air in the show's ultra-competitive 9-10 p.m. slot every Thursday through the series finale February 22.
So far this season, the show is averaging about 4.1 million total viewers, less than half of what it garnered during its debut season, according to Nielsen Media Research. Last season it averaged 5.7 million.
"The O.C." got off to a promising start in August 2003, garnering plenty of buzz with its attractive cast. But at the start of Season 2, Fox moved the show to Thursday nights, where it faced an uphill battle and never recovered. Before this season began, Fox said it was cutting its order of episodes.
The show, which follows a group of friends and families whose lives were changed by the arrival of an outsider (Benjamin McKenzie) to the chic California community of Newport Beach, recently saw some cast changes. Mischa Barton's character was killed off at the end of last season, and Autumn Reeser and Willa Holland came on board as regulars.
The other original cast members still on board include Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowan, Adam Brody, Melinda Clarke and Rachel Bilson.
During its four seasons on the air, "The O.C." also generated buzz around the indie music featured in its episodes and spawned six soundtracks.
"This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close," said creator/executive producer Josh Schwartz. "Thanks to the hard work of our cast, crew and writers, we have enjoyed our best season yet, and what better time to go out than creatively on top."

R.I.P. Chaz Westchesterfield

Chaz Westchesterfield, 18, was found dead late last night, the victim of an apparent car accident. It appears Chaz lost control of his white Corvette while speeding down Sunset Blvd. Police suspect he may have been drag racing his longtime friend and rival, actor James Spader.

When questioned about the death, Spader acknowledged attending a party with Westchesterfield earlier in the night at the Beverly Hills home of classmates Eric and Lyle Menendez but claimed that the two left hours apart. Spader also claimed that Chaz had been, "Partying pretty hard," and was distressed after receiving "Some pretty heavy news from his step mom," concerning her disapproval over an upcoming trip to Daytona Beach for spring break.

Preliminary autopsy results have revealed large quantities of Diet Coke in his system. Authorities have yet to determine if Chaz was on his carphone at the time of the accident. Westchesterfield leaves behind his father, stockbroker Bruce Westchesterfield and stepmother, actress Brigitte Nielson-Westchesterfield.

One Woman’s Battle with Cheap Lace

I think we can all agree that I took the 80’s prom theme very seriously. My costume was my dream realized and seeing crowds of giant hair made my heart swell. That’s the funny thing about dreams… they often crash and then they burn. I now bring you to present day where I can barely type due to the overwhelming itchiness I’m experiencing on both my hands. I have bad news my friends… cheap, fingerless lace gloves are bad – very, very bad. I think the rest of the story can best be shared through the conversation had recently with my dermatologist.

Dermatologist: “So… tell me when you started itching.”

Me: “Well… I noticed slight irritation over the weekend, but it really picked up the past couple days.”

Dermatologist: “Did you do anything out of the ordinary? Lotions, clothing?”

Me: “Um…well… I did wear these lace gloves last weekend… not that I would normally wear those, I mean who would… but we had this party, an 80’s party, so, uh, yeah… I guess that was different.”

Dermatologist: Swallows laugh. “This seems like the most logical explanation, your itching is quite localized. I must say it’s also one of the more unique stories I’ve heard. I guess my recommendation would be to take some Claritin and stay away from any sort of lace gloves… maybe all gloves, just to be safe. Definitely something to think about for your next costume party, huh?”

Me: Shamed. “Yeah, thanks. I’m going to go ahead and go now.”

World's tallest man saves dolphin

The world's tallest man has saved two dolphins by using his long arms to reach into their stomachs and pull out dangerous plastic shards.

Mongolian herdsman Bao Xishun was called in after the dolphins swallowed plastic used around their pool at an aquarium in Fushun, north-east China.

Attempts to use instruments failed as the dolphins contracted their stomachs.

Guinness World Records list Mr Bao, 54, as the world's tallest living man at 2.36m (7ft 8.95in).

Recovering

Veterinarians turned to Mr Bao after attempts to extract the plastic shards at the aquarium in Fushun, Liaoning Province, had failed.

The mammals had lost their appetite and were suffering depression, aquarium officials said.

The heads of the dolphins were held back and towels wrapped around their teeth so Mr Bao could not be bitten.

He then extended his 1.06m-long arm into the mammals' stomachs.

Chen Lujun, manager of Royal Jidi Ocean World, said Mr Bao was successful and the dolphins were "in very good condition now".

Local doctor Zhu Xiaoling told the state media agency Xinhua: "Some very small plastic pieces are still left in the dolphins' stomachs.

"However the dolphins will be able to digest these and are expected to recover soon."

Mr Bao was confirmed as the world's tallest living man by Guinness World Records last year.

He overtook the previous holder, Radhouane Charbib of Tunisia, by just 2mm.

Guinness World Records say Mr Bao was of normal height until 16 but then put on a spurt that doctors were unable to explain, reaching his full height in seven years.

Miller Recovers His Mug

LIVE BREAKING NEWS: DAVID MILLER RECOVERS HIS MUG

David Miller’s mug has been recovered, a Los Angeles official says.

A plastic chalice was turned in by a FedEx delivery man, who said he had discovered it among his packages after David Miller went public at noon about the theft of hi plastic mug.

"It went on display during several company events," Grace Kim said today.

Kim said the FedEx delivery man told CarryOn that he founded the mug hidden amongst FedEx packages. The delivery man, whom the police did not identify, is co-operating with a police investigation.

Los Angeles police announced today that an anonymous tip led them to a women’s bathroom where they found the famed mug.

CarryOn employee David Miller blamed the theft on staff. He said only three people had access to the area where the items were taken.

God Wears a Helmet

Dear Readers - This week's show presented an interesting conundrum for Yours Truly: having to review a show based almost entirely on subject matter that I don't really care for - football. But what I realized through this ordeal is that its not that I don't like football - per se - I just don't like the NFL. Let me explain, for those of you intimate with my past, you may know that I was a "Yell Leader" in high school. Call us cheerleaders and with all the Catholic-Boy prep school suburban angst that we could muster we would deny it to the death. The gig entailed wearing a white and blue striped polo-shirt and khaki shorts/pants while chanting a variety of mostly unorganized and mean-spirited cheers while trying to humiliate the other team by humiliating ourselves more (that sort of Manichean logic seemed correct in the good ol' days- like making fun of the one you wished to date the most until they cried). Anyway, that experience taught me a lot about what football is and what it can mean to a community, particularly if you have a good team. Our team went all state or champions or CCS or something and there are few things better than having the clock down to the final minutes while that guy in your english class passes it to that other guy from your History of the Modern World class for a game winning touchdown in the last game of the season. In NFL, so much of that home-townie camaraderie seems eaten by the souless corporate machine that stamps helmets with logos and throws annoying John Madden quotes at you on giant rotating chyrons sponsored by Nike and Kellogs cereal. It seems the closer to the ground (societally) that football gets, the more compelling it becomes...in my mind anyway. If football is an analogue for the Roman arena, I guess I'd rather see people I know pummelled by lions.

Anthropologically speaking, I find football interesting because like art, theatre and video games, it seems to fulfill some cultural niche that seems so removed from the vital machinations of real life while being absolutely necessary at the same time. It's both extraneous and compulsory. Watching FNL reinstilled that sort of cultural importance of football, of team organization and homosociality that only alpha-male competitive ass-pats can induce. At first I was skeptical, as the opening had me wondering if this was going to be yet another Varsity Blues with such unforgettable lines as "I don't want YOUR life!" And though that movie had its good points (whipped cream anyone?), it ultimately reminded me why I don't live in Texas. But like NFL to good old Bellarmine Bells high school championships, this show differs in that it really gets at the beating heart of how such a "game" can unite or rend a community.

The engaging documentary-style camera work follows an NBC crew following the team (meta, eh!?) before their opening game with a new coach. The acting seems unpretentious and the dialogue almost entirely palatable. Those two distinctions alone should garner a few Emmys in my opinion, but hey, maybe there's no room with Everybody Loves Ramond receiving posthumously? After establishing the ethos of the Texas town that lives football, breathes football and pours football all over their chili burgers, the story finally starts advancing. We find the coach to be an untested newbie (and an actor with some gravitas to boot) and the quarterback to be a handsome all-American God Fearing Saint who carries the team's skills and boosts their morale. There are some blonde girls in crop-tops and like any drama set in the South, inklings of racial tension to be explored further in coming episodes. Sound boring? I thought it would be. The arc of the show really picks up when during the final game (SPOILER ALERT) the quarterback heroically vaults in front of an opposing player (close game at this point) and injures/martyrs himself, ultimately effing up his spine. A scene of hospital workers unceremoniously cutting his helmet off with a saw and incising his back to fix his spine is juxtaposed with the backup quarter back (another toothsome yet inexperienced hulk) trying to rally the team in the final minutes to recover the game and bring honor back to their small fighting town. I actually found myself standing to cheer a team I should really have no allegiance to, were it not for the earlier exposition that fleshed out these characters into actual believable human bodies. The other team was just "the other team," with no story, no narrative, no soul.

The outcome is largely predictable, so I don't even need to spell it out for you, but the execution of the final moments, the careful surgical selection of the scenes, even with a voiceover, seem to cut to the quick of what football is - and should be - all about: pleasing God by winning and bringing honor to families and a community who otherwise would be useless and unimportant....Just kidding- mostly. Like the SlumpBuster's up-and-down championship rollercoaster ride last night, the game comes to represent life; that sometimes the best players get their spines broken, but someone always steps up to carry the ball; sometimes for a win. In our case, thank God, you can replace "spine" with "hammy." Overall the show is less about football and more about a town completely obsessed with something they have created that is now much larger than all of them combined. This game where boys throw pig skin at each other and try to get it in the end zone before the other boys push them down has somehow encapsulated their hopes and dreams and all their possibilities for the future. It's politics with helmets.

All this philosophizing on football has made me a little more straight, so I will continue to watch this show in hopes that there's a good shower scene (which I'm promised there is). But I would recommend this show, given that it made lil' ol me stand up and cheer. It's not perfect and I hope it explores divergent possibilities to expand on the usual sports narrative where the hero always wins or backup quarterback-who-no-one-thought-could-step-up-does-and-proves-himself-to-win-the-big-game-and-woo-the-coach's-daughter scenario, but we'll have to wait in the bleachers through the season to find out. Clear eyes, full hearts and - in the future less predictable storylines - and this show can't lose.

Adrian Scandle's Reviews: Studio 60 & Heroes

Alright, here's the deal CarryOn-ers, I am going to start posting reviews. I will warn you, my biting wit and no-holds-barred honesty may frighten and even offend you, but in the name of truth I must say what needs to be said. This will be a semi-regular posting (to all my loyal fans who complain I don't post enough, let me just say that some of us are billable) that will be updated as new material crosses in front of my unblinking eyes. This can be television, movies, the annoying behaviors of my otherwise loveable officemates and cats, songs on the radio, David's latest buffonts, etc. With that said, let us jump right into the abyss and being with my review of - virtual drumroll please....

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
So while admittedly never a mouth-foaming fan of The West Wing, I did understand the appeal of its running-down-the-hall-with-aides-and-cabinet, national crises, clip-board-in-hand, Allison Janey delivering slapping dialogue. If any place deserves the frenetic energy usually reserved for high school proms or Red Bull sponsored raves, it's certainly the White House (albeit not with the current administrations' Debbi-Downer clause apparently added to the Presidential oath...but that's another review entirely). However, Studio 60, driven by the self aggrandizing Sorkin, tries to deploy the same tactic of overlapping dialogue and kinetic hyperactivity and map it onto a TV studio, giving the same weight to "Mr. Producer, the White Stripes have dropped out!" that they would have given to "Mr. President, the country is under nuclear attack!" And while I'm sure Judith can attest to the fact that studio execs probably do treat such instances as issues of the greatest importance, studio president Amanda Peet could care less. Well, actually, I can't tell if she can care less because she only has 2 acting techniques that she uses by changing her face from amused to amused and bewildered. If there were a paper bag large enough, she would be trying to use those two faces to escape, if you catch my drift. Matthew Perry plays...well, Matthew Perry, which is delightful for me in a kind of sadistic way. I mean, he's not easy on the eyes (but my friends tell me apparently straight girls think he's dreamy, which I'll never understand...he looks like a gargoyle, all saggy-eyed) but seeing him play a nervous wreck is a nice departure from the sacchrine-blooded Chandler Bing.

The rest of the show for me just reads as an exercise in murdering subtelty. NBS, could that be NBC? HILARIOUS. Studio 60, a late night sketch comedy show that's failing? Could that be Saturday Night Live?! Oh Sorkin, you riotous cad! A writer/producer overcoming his coke habit to return a flailing network to its once glorious days? Could that be Mr. Sorkin himself?! Sheer sticky-palmed brilliance!

That said...it's unfortunately still better than 90% of what's on TV. I suggest a drinking game to impair your judgement (and taste). Try taking a shot/swig whenever a character says "Hey" to a fellow Studio 60-er, you'll at least think Matt Perry's more attractive by the end...

Heroes - NBC
So I was thrilled to see this show, especially after the preview where the girl jumps off a 50 ft. high platform and falls on her face (and lives). I'm amused by superpowers, especially ones that facilitate Jack-Ass style stupid human tricks, so I was expecting a lot from this show. What a letdown! I mean, for all you fans of a certain island mystery show on ABC starring Matthew Fox (a much more attractive Matthew), does this sound at all familiar: a group of strangers, some with unexplanable powers, are all somehow connected but they don't yet know it. There's the young sexy eterna-stubbled doctor (the main character, no doubt), an East Asian subtitled youngster sick of the stiffling anonymity apparently associated with his culture (I know, I found that bit racist too - his friend actually says "I want to be normal. We're supposed to be like everyone else, we're Japanese!"), a sexy brunnette with a dark past, a heroine addicted artist, yadda yadda yadda and the list continues. Again, what happened to new stories? I mean, I know since Shakespeare's time there's basically only been like 3 new stories developed, but can't you reach back further than 3 years for them? At least try and pull the wool over our eyes! Are Stan Lee and JJ Abrams getting a check for this show? I mean, we're supposed to wait for the characters to develop their powers and be intrigued by how all their stories intertwine, but you have to make the show watchable in the meantime. This makes me wish my TiVo had a "Quality" button that I could push that would extract the 10 interesting minutes from this uninventive superhuman drama. Maybe it'll grow into itself and get better? Maybe I'll develop the ability to fly and hover outside your offices? I'll give this show another try just in the hopes that someone on the production staff will develop the superpower of *gasp* originality, but in the meantime don't be frightened if you see me flapping along with the hawk and scaring the crap out of the 22nd floor.

It's that time again...
Our intrepid photo editor Carlos has scoured the CarryOn shared drive to bring you another caption contest. I think we've really outdone ourselves this time. How you may ask? Well, it's pretty ground breaking. In fact, I don't know if your feeble minds can handle the divine nectar we're about to pour down your throats. We were really in a zone when we came up with this week's twist on the boring old caption contest. No, this ain't your grandaddy's average caption contest. No, no, no. This is some new, still in diapers, fresh of the streets kind of s***. This is Wu Tang 36 Chambers kind of mind blowing. It makes "Bringing Sexy Back" look about as fresh as dancing the charleston in a speak easy.

Do you still want Prometheus to give you fire, silly mortals? Okay, fine. Wow, you're really persistant. I don't think you're ready but..... Wait for it...... Wait for it..... This weeks caption contest has not one, but TWO pictures!!! Are your minds blown or WHAT?

There is a fine fella who works on the corner of 40th and Park named George. He has little "hut" that he stands in selling coffe, donuts, bagels and juice everymorning. Every morning George has my iced coffee (made perfectly light and sweet) ready to go. I drop my $1.50 and wish him a good morning.

Unfortunately George got busted yesterday by the NYPD for not having a valid food ventor license. Word on the street (or from Elizabeth who saw the whole thing) was another happy customer of dear George got a little loud with the cops and a bit of a scene was created.

Apparently George was told he could no longer man his post on 40th and Park - so I drank my last iced coffee yesterday in honor of my dear friend, George.

Well atleast I thought yesterday was my last....

I came in this morning and who was there to be manning his post yet again - but yes, it was good ol George.

So Cheers to George for saying "Down with the police" - and serving me my must needed iced coffee!!!

Makes you wonder what's in his bagles though?
